Mark and Andrew flew into San Francisco Saturday at 4:40! Here are some pictures of those first moments Andrew was on American soil.
Mark said Andrew was so excited when the plane had landed! He was all smiles when we saw him! We got into the car and the first thing he wanted to do was sleep! Well, we couldn't have that. If he fell asleep, he wouldn't sleep that night. So the kids were talking to him and he was communicating back as best he could. There was a lot of laughter going on in the back of that Suburban!
We stopped and had some dinner before the rest of the ride home. Andrew wanted pasta with chicken. He did eat one of Mark's sliders! I think he just loves food in general!
We got home, he walked in and said, "Wow!" The first thing he wanted to do was go play the piano. Then he wanted to check out his room. The last picture is of him sitting on his bed. When he walked into his room he whistled! He took a bath....he LOVES a bath! Got ready for bed about 10:00 and just woke up at 7:10 this morning.
How can Mark and I ever thank you all for your continued love, support and prayers. We are incredibly blessed. Andrew's adoption would not have been possible without the people who advocated, prayed and donated. The Lord put it on your hearts and through your obedience, Andrew is home! Praise God!! All glory to Him!
This God journey has been amazing and I know it's not over. Please stick with Andrew and us with your prayers. This is a whole new world for him and we would love the adjustment to go smoothly!
I love Andrew's story of your faith in knowing that he was your son....and him realizing it. Welcome HOME Andrew!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Andrew is home at last! May God continue to bless him and your whole family! What a beautiful story!

What a joy to see him make it home!!! It is soooo heart warming to see what God can do if we but ask in sincere prayer. May He continue to bless your family as you work on this wonderful (but sometimes challenging) transition.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures of him and his siblings! He is right where he belongs, and it appears that he knows that! I am so happy for your family and cannot wait to see the things Andrew goes on to do!! Welcome home Andrew!!!!
ReplyDeletePraying for a good transition! I met a gal at Costco last week...she moved here from Maldova 2 yrs ago. I wish I had exchanged numbers with her! If Andrew misses conversations with lively accents similar to his, I have some good friends from Romania...they have a 15 yr old son who loves God; maybe they could become friends? :) So happy for all of you!!! <3
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing pictures, such a moment...adoption just blows me away. Your son just fits, he looks so natural and happy with all of you. What a beautiful gift God gives us, the heart to love each other like this. This is how we know what love is, that we lay down our lives for each other...
ReplyDeleteLove your little girl, she reminds me of my 4 year old daughter...something just sweet about her. Blessings on you all!
Wow!!! Praise the LORD!!! WE have been praying for you and for Andrew for a LONG time and what a joy to see your miracles unfold! We learned of you through Adeye...who I learned of through other adoption circles.. We too have watched miracles unfold in the lives of our 4 girls adopted internationally...just got home from Bulgaria 5 weeks ago...So just wanted to share that I will pass along this amazing news to many prayer warriors that are elderly and don't have internet access...but they have been praying for your son!

ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Katie. I just found your blog yesterday, and read every posting I could find about this amazing story. Knowing they'd be traveling, I prayed for Andrew & your husband, and also for the rest of your family. I couldn't wait to find out today if they were home yet! I am so very excited for you and for Andrew! May God continue to shower you with blessings, as well as equip you with the joy, peace, courage, patience and unconditional love you will all need in the months to come. I will continue to pray as the family adjusts. Congratulations to your family on having a new son/brother, and to you, Andrew, on /being/ a new son and brother!
ReplyDeleteThanking and praising the Lord! How wonderful that Andrew knew in his heart that you are his forever family. Prayers will be with all of you during this time of transition.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful story of redemption!! Will be praying for your continued adjustment and the Lord's continued work in you new son's life.
ReplyDeleteSO glad Andrew is home!! And so glad I was able to show my boys what one small donation among many is able to do to help. I wasn't able to adopt, but I'm able to help others. Maybe in the future my kids will adopt?
ReplyDeleteAndrew just looks like he BELONGS in your family - congratulations to all of you!!
Welcome to America, Andrew!! TY for sharing the photos with us and Andrew's journey home to his forever family. He is such a handsome young man and although I'm sure it will be an adjustment period and Andrew may have times when he is nervous or missing what is familiar, I pray that he will realize just how much his family loves him already and how that love will grow! I pray he makes tons of friends as his journey continues, that his adjustment period goes smoothly, that the language barrier will be overcome and that he knows in his heart that he made the right decision for him according to God's will!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, young man!
