We'd like to say a big thank you to Donnie and Karrie Cannell for the pizza fundraiser they did for us last night! We appreciate you both so much!

Our daughter, Morgan, graduated from 8th grade this last weekend. We are a homeschool family and we like to celebrate! Morgan got to pick out a dress with all the accessories and the place for dinner. I remember when she was a little, tiny tot with pigtails. She has grown up so fast.

Still no news when we are supposed to travel. A family that was submitted two weeks before us doesn't have their date either. Waiting is the worst.

We do have Jonathan's room set up! Mark and I are going to take him shopping in Ukraine so he can pick out some pictures or decorations for his room.

We have $3,200 left to raise! Praise the Lord for all the monies that have come in and for all of you who have donated, shared and prayed, we are truly thankful.

  1. Wow, your fundraising is getting so close to done! Yay! It'll be so great to see you fully funded and have that weight off your shoulders (though obviously not as great for me as it will be for you!). And Jonathan's room looks awesome -- can't wait to see him in it -- finally HOME!

  2. I've been following you for a short time. His room looks wonderful. You made it so welcoming and yet appropriate for a teenage boy. I don't know you, but I'm proud of you! I can't wait to see his homecoming.

  3. I'm so happy to hear how well the fundraising has gone. Do you think you'll hold another fundraiser? Another one which is cool is the calendar fundraiser, where you buy a day of the year for, say, $10. Everyone can "buy their birthday", anniversary, kids' birthdays. That could raise more than enough! Let me know how I can help with whatever you do.
BTW, love Jonathan's bedroom. I'm sure he will, too. And your daughter looks lovely!

  4. MORGAN is such a lovely, talented & beautiful young woman! Her heart for God & others is refreshing & her grace is unmatched! Please tell her that Aunt Joy is very proud of her & I am searching for the PERFECT graduation gift!

Your SON is almost home!!! His room is looking perfect & all that is missing is a ton of stinky boy clothes all over the floor!!! Can't wait to see how God knits his heart into the Mickshl family! We are all proud of you & Mark... Also honored to be your friends... Love you so much! Almost there sister... just a few more days!!! -Joy

  5. He even has matching lamps...nice! I really need to get lamps for our bedroom :)
