It has been so long since I've written a post!  The summer has gone by way too quickly and we have been super busy. It will be nice to get back into routine with school starting in September. I give the kids a choice every year......do you want to go to school or stay home?  Without hesitation, they all respond, "Stay home!"  I love being with them and teaching them!

Here are a few pictures from the last two months!
This is Andrew's first time hitting a pinata!
Mackenzie LOVES to play dress up even if it is with her brother's mask!
Millie in Lake Tahoe jumping and doing somersaults!
My girls in the pool on a hot day!
We had a French student stay with us for a little while this summer.  He was a hurting boy. Unfortunately, he was not interested in our family or the love we tried to show him. If you think of him, please remember to keep Hugo in prayer.

  1. We had a French student, as well, this summer! It sounds like our experiences were vastly different, though. I will definitely pray for Hugo :-( How long did he stay?

    1. He was supposed to be here for 18 days, but we had him for ten days. I've heard wonderful things about students coming from other countries, but our boy did not want to be with a family. He wanted to be with his French friends. Praying his heart softens and he chooses a different path to go down. Lots of things he was doing that a 15 year old boy shouldn't be doing. He didn't like our babies with Down syndrome either. Made it hard on our kids. Maybe someday he will remember the love we showed him. :)

  2. This sounds exactly like our experience with a 16 yo Swiss student this summer. She was supposed to stay for about 8 weeks and left after two. Only wanted to be with her friends and boyfriend in Switzerland. Rarely left her room. Was constantly on the phone, computer, etc. and turned down many opportunities to experience the USA. She also did not respond well to our special needs children. We were so excited to host her, but it didn't work out.

  3. Just read through your beautiful story! (Got here through a link from No Greater Joy Mom). Hope to see an update in the future!

  4. Have a sweet blessed Thanksgiving. I hope all is well for you and your family, miss your wonderful updates.
